Privacy Policy - Expense Tracker

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Expense Tracker app and website collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We keep this deliberately simple, because the app itself is simple.

What we collect

We only collect the minimum needed to run your account:

Email address - used to create your account and to log you in.
Password - used only to sign you in. It is stored in an encrypted (hashed) form and is never readable by us or anyone else.
Expenses you add - the amount, an optional note or title, a category, and the date of each expense you choose to record.

We do not collect your name beyond what you provide, your location, your contacts, your device identifiers, or any data from other apps on your device.

How we use it

To let you sign up and log in securely.
To save the expenses you enter so you can view your history and totals.
To show you charts and summaries of your own spending.

Your data is used only to provide these features. That is the entire purpose.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your data to anyone.
We do not share your data with advertisers or third parties.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not read your SMS, notifications, or any other content on your device.

How your data is stored

Your account details and expenses are stored on a secure database. Access is protected by authentication tokens, and passwords are always hashed before storage. Data is sent between the app and our servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Your choices and rights

You can add or delete individual expenses at any time inside the app.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
